Batts are a delightful but often intimidating preparation to spin, especially when texture is involved. This hands-on sampling workshop walks students through techniques and ideas for how to prepare a batt for spinning, encourages spinners to experiment with gauge at all levels of texture, and introduces spinning techniques that enhance and exhibit textures. Plying techniques, how to stretch your yardage for a project, record keeping, and the layered structure of various types of batts will also be covered. Bring your adventurous spirit and make a textured yarn that sings!
